What does a city sound like?
VYNL is a television series created to answer that question. Exploring cities around the world, a musician from that city introduce us to the sounds their city. Hamburg was our first effort in capturing the essence of a city. With DJ Kemit, we ran all over Hamburg and explored the the music from classical to EDM, met the artists making waves here, and finally Kemit produced a track that represents what he experienced during our week in Hamburg.
As the director, it was unique opportunity to think about a show beginning with the audio, and then matching the visuals to it. TV show concepts rarely begin that way.
